Har! I Found Me Own Pirate Pad

Like every other person on the free world, I went this weekend to see “Pirates of the Caribbean”. I won’t droll on about how good it was. You can find that on other blogs. Just go see it; it’s very much worth it.

So having landed a new job in Marketing/Publishing, I’m now in Vancouver looking for an apartment. I applied for one in the same building as some friends of mine; it would be nice to have the company well still maintaining my own private space. The only down side is that the apartment has carpeting, I really would have preferred wood floors. And oddly enough, it’s a bachelor suite. Now I know what you’re thinking, why would you want to have an apartment that so small it has no bedroom? This is the exception; it has this great den which I have no clue to why they did not turn into its own bedroom and a massive living room. Space, as many large city dwellers know, is a rare commodity in Vancouver, so when you find it in any form, you grab it. I figured I could use one of those trendy wood latched dividers to make the wall I need and in a way the combined space would make it seem larger.

A New Day

What a crazy day, I finally have a permanent position in Vancouver. Don’t worry though, I’m not one those people who gets a boring office job and actually think other people want to hear about it. But I will say it’s perfect for my return to school and that I get to work with tons of people with far more graphics experience than me. Sure, it not the playful position I had a Disney, but I’m sure I can make it more interesting.

Tonight I will watch Office Space to celebrate. YAH! TPS reports!

New Blog Focus and the Heroes Season Finally

After Frankensteining four different templates, giving it my own flair and creating a new background in Photoshop, I decided to make my continued old blog its own domain. It worked so well for my last; mybossisamouse.com had such a great following. I’m hoping I can find a following without Disney this time. It use to be that all I really did was review movies here, this will continue, but I’m hoping to make it more personal and entertaining having returned to school for graphic arts.

My old blog will hopefully be continues by other Disney cast. If you are currently working for Disney, please contact me, I am still searching for others to take over. I have only had one sign up, and she unfortunately is not able to post very often.

On another note, tonight was the season finale of “Heroes”. I can’t believe how good this show is, I have not been this impressed with a story line in a long while. Very few shows seem to reach that level; “Battlestar Galactica”, “Carnival” and “Northern Exposure” are a few off the top of my head.

I think what makes some of these shows work so well is that they lack of the standard singular hero, they recognize that human flaw is part of everybody’s life, that none of us are black and white. It’s a complexity to people that I'm glad has been made part of this show. I recommend watching the first two seasons if you have no already, it will feed your inner nerd. I look forward to the next season premier.

Shrek 3

It was like watching Mike Meyers in a car crash; out of the blue he had taken this amazingly witty series of movies and somehow turned it into this bland unimaginative crap. What happened to you Mike? Did having a kid turn your brain to mush? I suspect so; I guess he no longer has the time to keep up with the world.

Shrek 3 didn't have that underlying dominoes effect of humor that the previous two movies had built. Sure there were hints of the it there, but it felt like it was forced, almost like a chicken that was near the end of her egg laying cycle painfully pushing them out just so she didn't get the axe.

There are rumors of him producing one more Austin Powers movie. Lets hope he gets a little help with the writing before he destroys that as well.
