Goh Ballet and Shrinkage

Sat Night had me at the ballet. That's right, Jeremy went to the Ballet, and I'm afraid to say, I enjoyed it. Not just because of all the attractive people in tight cloths, but also because I helped set it up and it was for a great cause. The production was through Goh Ballet, my current employer, and all the benefits went to the BC Children's Hospital. It was so exciting being able to meet all the politicians and international ambassadors. We had Rolex donate a 10,000 watch for a raffle prize, and it was great seeing all the people willing to buy tickets.

If anybody is interested in donating 20 dollars to the BC children's Hospital, you can contact me through here and I can arrange a raffle ticket for you. Or you can contact Goh Ballet at 604-872-4014. Ask for the amazing Jeremy, and if I'm not around, I'm sure somebody else can help you out.

Sunday was spent at a nude beach out by UBC. I know what you're thinking, and no; I kept my clothes on. I was too much of a chicken %$#!. The whole beach smelled of fish, tanning lotion and pot. The water was too cold to swim, but there were a few daring people who were trying; many of them with shrinkage.

The world of art.

Last night, a friend made an odd point. If a man were to be seen urinating on a watermelon, it would be considered apprehensive and odd, but if he decided to take a black and white image of it with all the proper shading, it would be considered art. Now if another man were to be caught masturbating to that image, he would once again be ostracized. But if he photographed that action and said he was being ironic, it would once again be considered art.

Isn't photography fantastic.

I'm not there, I'm here.

Last night I wedged myself into one of the packed theaters for "Iron Man" and walked away impressed and full. Robert Downey JR Sir, you rock. He pulled off taking a story which could have just as easily turned out very dated, and made it into an adventure film worthy of the big screen. I could smell the sequel once the credits were rolling.

It seems that Hollywood’s 2 year funk of horrid films is finally coming to an end. I'm looking forward to a few, including the new Indian Jones, Kung Fu Panda and James Bond. It’s been a long time since I felt that.

This morning, while blogging, I'm watching "I'm not There". It made me consider something. The era of true adventures is pretty much over. People don't appreciate the amazing traits of the dirty; passionate people are passé I guess. Look at Dylan, he got from point A to B through a rough road; he became what he was because of it. He held off on what was easy and normal to be a crater on the face of this mud ball. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning drug use, or even condemning it. But I have to give a man credit for living, for inviting trouble into his life so that he understood it and could face the problems of the world. These days, people try to fake it. They go to Emily Car and pretend their deep artists. They try to meet the stereotype, but the real artists are the ones trying to break the stereotype. They are the ones stirring the pot, and making you think.
