A very small percentage of the profits from album sales actually trickles down to the artists themselves, so the bulk of the money's going to the labels, which the RIAA will damn sure go to bat for because the labels have the clout to make a legitimate fuss if things don't go the way they want them to go. So the RIAA's protecting their own interests long before they're protecting the interests of the recording artists themselves.Aaron R.noreply@blogger.com
